April 3rd, 2004 Tampa, FL By: Justin Welty Pictures by: Ryan Welty Jason Welty David Welty  VWFixx Fest 2004 Gallery The first annual VWFixx Fest finally came together on Saturday April 3rd, 2004.  For being the first organized show I have done I now have a lot of respect for everyone else that puts together and organize shows for everyone to enjoy. The show was a success and the official car count was 212 cars which could have been higher with cars coming and going. The show was located at Lake Park in North Tampa and took place from 11am - 4pm. The weather was perfect with high temps around 75 and not a cloud in the sky!! With such a good show all of the credit goes to the Volunteers that helped at the show, Amy, Melissa and Brandon who sold the food and raffle tickets, John and my family for helping out at the VWFixx booth, Mark, Cuba and Justin K for handing out the show programs and VWFixx stickers, Ron for announcing the raffle winners, Kyle, Rob, Andrew and Eric getting people parked and Wade getting the tables for the show sponsors!!  And of course everyone that helped get the booth setup, assist the vendors setup and help clean up and break down after the show.  If it wasn't for the help of these people the show would not have been what is was. The show sponsors also helped make it all happen.  APR was at the show chipping anyone who didn't mind gaining some extra horsepower for a little dough, and also giving people the trial program. Suncoast Motorsports came up and displayed a few nice VWs and was selling various parts at some good prices.  GHL couldn't make the show but were offering some of the best pricing available on their full line of merchandise. The Original Autohaus came out in full force and brought some of THE nicest cars, see the mk2 below!!, they also brought a 360 Ferrari with custom wheels that is just amazing!  The other sponsors involved include: Underground VWParts, ECS Tuning, Global Auto Services, The Diagnostic Guy, Eurotech Racing, F Squared and E.C.C.O.   A few of the highlights of the show were the super clean mk2 VR6 shown above and the mk4 Getta Supercharged VR6 below.  With over 200 cars at the show there were many qulaity cars, just check out the picture gallery and you will see what I'm talking about! The raffle contest was another highlight of the event.. with APR giving away a free chip and a pair of ECU explorers, GHL giving away a downpipe and a cold air intake kit, Suncoast gave away some VW stuff including a TT pedal set, Original Autohaus gave away some shirts and some HID bulbs, VWFixx even ponied up $100 cash and some shirts and hats!!   With such a great 1st event next years event will only get bigger and better and hopefully pull more people from throughout the states.
